If you notice the logo, you will see that it has an arrow pointing from A to Z. This signifies that the company sells everything from A to Z. The arrow also forms a smile. This smile indicates the happiness and satisfaction of the customers.

2. Apple

The apple is a reference from the Adam and Eve story, in which the apple represents the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, with a pun on ’ byte/bite’. Rob Janoff, the designer of this logo, said in an interview that though he was mindful of the ’byte/bite’ pun (Apple’s slogan : “Byte into an Apple”), he designed the logo to prevent the apple from looking like a cherry tomato.

The four circles in the company’s logo represent the four different companies that were part of the Auto-Union Consortium in 1932.

Have a closer look at the highlighted pink portion of the logo. You will see the number ‘31’, which indicates that Baskin Robbins sells 31 types of ice creams, one for each day of the month.

10.Hope for African Children Initiative

This is my personal favorite! At the first glance, this logo looks like a map of Africa, but if you take a closer look, you will see two people (an adult and a child) facing each other. This made me realize how images can powerfully convey information silently. I think these logos rightly prove that a picture speaks a thousand words!

The reason for the harmful effects of carbonated drinks is a powerful ingredient present in them. Along with the natural flavors and other substances, these drinks also contain pH, which is called as the acid content. pH value ranges from 0 to 14 and 7.0 is considered as neutral. The pH level in human blood should be 7.35 to 7.45. The level of pH content in carbonated drinks ranges from 2.4 to 4.5, which is highly dangerous.

The acid content (pH) in fizzy drinks is as follows:

Anything above 7.0 is alkaline and below 7.0 is considered acidic. Our body strives to maintain the pH level. When the pH value goes above 7.8 or below 6.8, cells begin to deteriorate. When taken continuously, fizzy drinks act as a slow poison and lead to the gradual destruction of teeth, bones, stomach, and pose a risk to the whole body.

Anderson, the writer and director of the series, has taken the film to the next level by introducing the most amusing 3D technology. Resident Evil: Afterlife is the second movie that is filmed using the advanced 3D Fusion Camera System, followed by James Cameroon’s Avatar.

In an interview for MovieOnline, Paul W. S. Anderson said, “I think the interesting thing is really it’s going to be the first proper live action 3D movie of the year. And I don’t think anyone’s really seen a proper 3D live action movie since Avatar.”

Starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Wentworth Miller, Kim Coates, Spencer Locke, and others, Resident Evil: Afterlife will hit the screens on September 10, 2010.

The Endhiran team launched the music of their movie with a mega show at Putrajaya International Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 31, 2010. The album includes seven tracks composed by A. R. Rahman. It received rave reviews and ranked on top of the US iTunes chart on the second day of release, becoming the first Indian album to reach the spot. The album’s release rights have been purchased by Think Music for 7 crores.

Endhiran is produced by Sun Pictures, which also holds the distribution rights for the movie. Hollywood’s leading production house HBO has bought the overseas rights of the film. Endhiran is the first South Indian film to use the ‘Animatronics’ technology. The film will have a mammoth worldwide release with more than 2000 prints. Endhiran is expected to be released in over 300 screens outside India, making it the largest worldwide release after Spiderman.

Yahoo has successfully signed a search deal with Google for the Japanese market. The deal was pulled through because the major stake holders for Yahoo Japan are Softbank corp with 40% stake, while Yahoo has only 35% stake. Another contributing factor was the approval from the Japanese Fair Trade Commission.

The deal was denounced by Microsoft as it would give Google the monopoly over the Japanese market, which is the world’s third largest market for search queries. Both natural search and paid search come into the boundaries of the deal. The deal between Yahoo and Google was preceded by a failed deal between the two in the US market because of anti-monopoly issues less than two years ago.

The US market has Yahoo and Bing in partnership. The alliance was formed to induce a healthy competition between Microsoft and Google in the US market. This makes one wonder whether the lobbying done by Microsoft in Japan is a push for a healthy competition or just a gimmick for breaking the deal.

Google controls 51% of the paid search advertising and Yahoo Japan holds 47%, while the new entry Bing, which has just recovered from its Beta phase, has only an insignificant market share in Japan. The collaboration between Yahoo and Google will now allow Google to completely control the Japanese market.

Will organic growth in this domain be curtailed in Japan giving way to monopoly through contract? The fact that search engines other than Google and Microsoft are nowhere in the map is not be forgotten. Let’s wait and watch as to how things unfold.

Mark Webber won the 2010 Hungarian F1 GP on August 1 to regain the lead in the drivers’ championship, as his team mate Sebastian Vettel came home third, following Ferrari’s double world champion Fernando Alonso.

It was a sunny afternoon at the Hungaroring track outside Budapest on Sunday as Vettel took his 7th pole of the season after Saturday’s qualifying session. Alonso, who started from the third position on the grid, attacked immediately, overtaking Webber to seize second place. Vettel was unable to hold his position as he made a careless mistake which allowed his team mate to pass.

Vettel was given a drive-through penalty for failing to keep within 10 car lengths of the safety car, which had entered the track to remove debris. This caused Vettel to slip behind Alonso and Webber into the third position.

Ross Brawn and his Brawn GP team may have had a memorable 2009 season, but the current season is becoming unforgettable for them for all the wrong reasons! The team had 2 disasters, one during and another after the race. First, a fumbled pit stop which led to the retirement of Nico Rosberg and a $50,000 fine on the team for a massive chaos in the pit lane, which was later followed by a 10 place grid penalty for Michael Schumacher’s unsafe blocking off Rubens Barrichello.

After all the drama and chaos, it was Webber’s day, as he brought home his 20th career win, the 4th in this season. “It was a bit of a gift today for me but I haven’t had many of them. It’s a nice way to celebrate my 150th race and a great day for us as a team on our 100th race weekend.” Webber said after the race.

Déjà vu or Promnesia is the experience of feeling certain that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously. It lasts only for a few seconds and dissolves even before you realize that you are having a déjà vu. The illusion can occur in three ways as follows:

1.Feeling as if previously felt, known as Déjà Senti.

2.Experiencing a new situation with an intuition of already experienced it and knowing as to what happens next. This is named as Déjà Vecu.

3.Visiting a new place but feeling as if already been there before and having knowledge about the place. This is called Deja Visite.

Researchers have proved that déjà vu is the result of the malfunctioning of the electrical system of the brain or other psychiatric disorders. This is not conclusive, as normal people without any such disorders also experience déjà vu. On the other hand, there are people who simply conclude that the first event was experienced in one’s previous life or in his dreams. Sometimes, déjà vu even paves the way for foretelling or prediction.
